THE MISSION
Strengthening families & improving the lives of youth through sports development, financial literacy and community outreach programs.
We aim to restore hope and improve the overall quality of life by strengthening and reviving the physical and financial well-being of our youth and families in the community through these three pillars.
Founded research shows keiki who make volunteering a regular part of their lives are more confident, happier, and more empathetic. Caring for others helps develop patience and strengthens relationships.
Working together on a common goal, like a service project, is an ideal environment for developing leadership skills. And the people who will benefit from the projects have hand-selected and will be thrilled to know they were part of the learning process for the groups.
It's a major win-win.
Tina has worked in this community for over 20 years and served on the Board of Directors with Aloha Dream Center since 2012 with Anchor Church in Kaneohe. https://www.facebook.com/AlohaDreamCenter/ The wonderful couple that started this non-profit "Inspiring Change through Community Outreach" moved to the mainland. So her & her husband spent 2019 following in their footsteps on learning how to apply for our own non-profit status and identified an actual location in the heart of where they serve.
As of April 2019, they launched EPIC. Working diligently to completely renovate a warehouse space in order to continue the outreach programs they found their calling. In 2019, they were blessed with the 501(c)3 status so they could continue the mission.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
If you would like to serve on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 4-6pm, EPIC has 5 Section-8 housing projects, schools and parks that they partner with for Community Outreach projects and Food Distribution. Please go to the Contact page and someone will be happy to connect with you in regards to serving for the next event.
Since Hawaii is one of the few states that has at least one base from each branch of the military here on Oahu, EPIC also invites those transitioning on and off the island to join them. The military-to-civilian transition can be a rollercoaster and they encourage community integration for our military families post-service. They support and welcome them to the island and hope they enjoy their fellowship in the monthly outreach outings.
Volunteers truly play a critical role in these events at EPIC. They rely on these compassionate individuals and groups who generously donate their time and talents so they are able to continue to provide critical support to families whether serving or being served.
Living on an island is all about
GETTING CONNECTED
GETTING INVOLVED &
MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Sound financial health is the foundation on which strong and resilient households, communities and economies are built. Financial wellness is a key factor in people's freedom to pursue their dreams.
THE VISION
EPIC is dedicated to promoting financial health by offering financial literacy classes to families in hope of creating a positive influence on growth, profitability and personal development of their finances. We envision a world where people are ready for life's ups and downs, and strive to teach families about the available tools and path to accomplish their financial goals.
Access to financial tools and education is important for all members of our community, especially those typically underserved by the financial industry. Our goal is to provide resources for community members that increase their financial literacy and prepare them to make healthy financial decisions.
Most of families in Hawaii have DEBT from a mortgage, credit card, school loan, or from being away serving their country and/or all of the above. As a result, they cannot afford for their keiki to participate in extracurricular sports and/or activities here on Oahu.
Hawaii is in the top 10 most expensive of places to live in America. In, 2019 Hawaii saw the highest increase in average credit card debt nationwide, and 64% of military families have overdrawn accounts and also find it difficult to meet their monthly expenses here, not to mention additional participation in after school activities for their children.
EPIC's financial literacy classes and curriculum are engaging and fun. Students learn the basic principles of managing personal finances, money and investing. The classes have been widely recognized for the ability to speak to all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds in order to take positive actions to reduce debt and begin to create wealth.
Tony Scotty, has been a Nationwide Speaker for the Financial Education Company, Renatus, since 2015. He teaches families how to use the banks' own products to reduce thousands of interest and years of loan payments, through weekly Game Nights facilitating Robert Kiyosaki's Cash Flow Game and teaching financial education curriculum in the upstairs classrooms.
We encourage not only the parents, but the kids as well, to learn the proven credit sweep strategies that they Do Not teach in school. Our 16-year-old son Nakoa has been helping facilitate the game for years and also helps teach portions of the lessons.
We believe that having a solid financial education at a young age is one of the best ways to keep youth from growing up into adults that are dependent on others for the rest of their lives. The classes provide basic fundamentals of personal finance.
EPIC class measures success by monitoring the client’s implementation of education through monitoring cash management techniques. They take pride in sharing experience and knowledge, as successful leaders in our community that are involved in providing a high level of genuine caring and personable service.

YOUTH SPORTS DEVELOPMENT
THE PURPOSE
To Teach Life Lessons through Sports
EPIC empowers and supports the development of underserved youth through Skill Training,
Team Fundamentals,
and Mentorship.
Education is not always confined to classroom walls, sometimes the most critical part of a child's day begins after the final bell rings. EPIC is a facility that is open after school and located in the heart of five Section-8 housing complexes in Kaneohe. Aside from physical benefits, youth sports have proven long-term emotional, physical and intellectual benefits.
EPIC believes every kid deserves the chance to play sports. The #1 barrier that keeps keiki from playing is cost. The effects of the pandemic have made the gap between those that can play and those that can’t even wider. The impact of this goes beyond the family–youth sports organizations have had to stop, making participation even more elusive. The youth sports development programs at EPIC, can be a solution to this growing problem.
EPIC teaches players that life lessons are learned in the journey of any sport and are much more important than any final score of just one game.
Coaches strive to use participation in youth sports as a medium to teach players life lessons on perseverance, ethics, responsibility and respect.
The opportunity to be involved in extracurricular sports is a luxury to many youth in Hawaii, especially families with more than one child. Many of our participants are unable to afford playing let alone the equipment required to play. We hope that we can bridge the gap through the help of Company Sponsorships, Grants, and Community Involvement to help facilitate the mission and strive to Make a Difference in a child's life through sports participation.
EPIC raises funds to help pay for league registration fees, sports equipment, and sports clinics, so that children in need may participate in local sports programs, where they may not have been able to otherwise. They do this by keeping the entry fees low, offer financial assistance into the programs through scholarships and try to reach out to any, and all those in need regardless of the family's financial status. No one is ever turned away if they are unable to pay, everyone is welcome to participate.
EPIC is dedicated to offering assistance in providing resources for youth to obtain the skill level needed to play competitively at school or a referred sponsored program. After participating in training clinics, most return with the skill sets needed to qualify for competitive baseball/softball programs of their desire. EPIC coaches put in the hard work to help children of our community reach their highest potential and become successful in a very competitive market.

EPIC continues to educate our community about the importance of youth sports and teach families solid financial foundations so that they can learn how to afford the high cost of participation of traveling teams here on the island.
If we work together, we can level the playing field and ensure that youth sports
survive and thrive after the pandemic
and ensure underserved children
benefit from the power of sports and enables them to reach their potential in life for a productive future.
